Juried Show 2018: How to Enter

Harvest some hosta leaves from your garden. Give them a thorough cleaning. Put a temporary label on each leaf identifying the variety. Immerse the leaves in water for the ride to the show.

When you arrive at the show site:

Step 1. Find the Exhibitor Check-In table. Folks will be there to help. Register and receive your exhibitor number and tally sheet.

Step 2. Use the tally sheet to list alphabetically all your entries in all divisions.

Step 3. In an appropriately-sized vase (provided), position each leaf to best advantage using cotton balls, making sure the stem end is immersed in water.

Step 4. Use the AHS 2018 Classification List or Leaf Size Chart to fill in the entry tag. Required information: Hosta variety name, Division, Section, Class, registered leaf length and width, exhibitor number, name and address. Attach a completed tag to each vase.

Step 5. Move prepared entry to submission table.

Step 6. Return your completed Individual tally Sheet to the Exhibitor Check-in station.

Submitted entries will be checked for classification accuracy and completeness. The tag will be folded to conceal the name of the exhibitor. The entry is then passed to the placement team to be conveyed to the assigned table on the show floor.

Show packets that include an Individual Tally Sheet, 12 entry tags, Giboshi Show Booklet, and the Special Show Edition of Georgia Hosta Notes will be available to attendees at the General Meeting of GHS 11:30 am on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Bellmere Garden House, 10777 Bell Road, in Duluth, GA.

The annual juried GHS Hosta Show is accredited by the American Hosta Society.
